About Me
Welcome — I’m really glad you’re here.
I’m Gem, a trauma-informed Myofascial Release Therapist, trained in the John F. Barnes method in Arizona, as well as a Reiki Master and Reiki Drum Practitioner. I also hold a Level 3 qualification in counselling skills — while I’m not a qualified counsellor, my work is guided by deep listening, empathy, and respect for the healing journey.
I’ve been in practice for six years, offering body-based therapies that support people to reconnect with themselves — gently, and at their own pace. I also work with Red Kite, a charity supporting survivors of sexual assault, and I bring that same trauma-aware, compassionate approach into every part of my practice.
Myofascial Release, as taught by John F. Barnes, is a whole-person, hands-on therapy that works with the fascia — the body’s connective tissue system — to release physical restrictions and deeply held emotional tension. It's a gentle yet powerful approach that honours the body’s innate wisdom and capacity to heal. This work isn’t about forcing change, but about creating space for it — meeting the body where it is, and allowing it to lead the way.
As someone who has personally experienced the challenges of chronic pain, I truly understand how ongoing discomfort can impact every part of life. I’m passionate about helping others find meaningful relief, reconnect with their bodies, and experience a better quality of life through gentle, effective therapies.
If you’re looking for a warm, grounded space that honours your whole self — body, mind, and spirit — then welcome. I’d be honoured to walk alongside you.
